On January 21, 2025 Waretown Fire, Station 61, NEMA EMS and Waretown PD were dispatched to the area of Illinois Ave and Main St for a reported house fire. Caller stated there was smoke in the Kitchen, possibly coming from the crawl space. Crews arrived on scene and quickly established there was something smoldering in the crawlspace and the hazard was mitigated.
